The challenge
For Marvel Studios' monumental theatrical event, Deadpool & Wolverine, The Walt Disney Studios Indonesia required a high-energy, eye-catching experiential installation at the main ground-floor concourse of Senayan City:
- Dynamic Anti-Gravity Action Stances: Wolverine poised in an aggressive forward lunging stance with unsheathed claws, alongside Deadpool in his trademark cheeky combat readiness. Supporting armatures had to remain entirely invisible.
- Screen-Accurate Suit Fabrication: Wolverine's nostalgic yellow-and-blue suit and Deadpool's textured crimson tactical combat leather had to mirror the authentic movie costumes worn by Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
- High-Touch Public Durability: With visitors standing directly next to the statues for up-close photo opportunities, all surfaces required extreme scuff resistance.
Our approach
- Concealed Cantilever Steel Engineering:
To achieve aggressive action stances without unsightly external braces, Livindo designed internal tubular steel skeletons anchored via high-torque flange bolts directly into counterweighted steel sub-floor framing.
- Sculpting & Micro-Tactical Texturing:
Carved from high-density EPS blocks, Deadpool's suit was embossed with screen-accurate micro-hexagonal armor texturing, while Wolverine's cowl mask featured sharp, aerodynamic character lines.
- Blunted Mirror-Chrome Weapon Props:
Wolverine's claws and Deadpool's dual katanas were fabricated from high-grade acrylic and polished aluminum buffed to a mirror-chrome sheen, with safety-radiused edges preventing any injury risks to eager fans.
- Multi-Stage Duco Polyurethane Coating:
Wolverine's vibrant comic yellow was layered with subtle airbrushed battle-damage scuffs, while Deadpool's crimson suit received dark-wash contour shading that emphasized muscular definition under commercial atrium lighting.
Outcome
The Senayan City installation emerged as one of the most celebrated Marvel experiential promotions in Southeast Asia. Crowds of filmgoers, collectors, and lifestyle influencers shared tens of thousands of tagged photos across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, driving tremendous awareness for the film's record-breaking box office debut.
